PRECAUTIONS FOR THE USE OF OIL-IMMERSED TEST TRANSFORMERS

Date:05-04-2022

The precautions for the use of oil-immersed test transformers are as follows:

1. Connect the working circuit according to the required test. The shell of the oil-immersed test transformer and the shell of the control box (table) must be grounded reliably. The X-end (high-voltage tail) of the high-voltage winding of the oil-immersed test transformer and the F-end of the measuring winding must be reliably grounded.

2. When doing the cascade test, the X terminal of the second and third low-voltage windings, the F terminal of the measuring winding and the X terminal (high-voltage tail) of the high-voltage winding are all connected to the casing of the test transformer of this stage. The outer casing of the second- and third-level oil-immersed test transformers must be grounded through the insulating support.

3. Before turning on the power, the voltage regulator of the oil-immersed test transformer control box (unit) must be adjusted to zero before turning on the power, closing the switch, and starting to boost the voltage.

4. Rotate the handwheel of the regulator evenly to boost the pressure from zero. The boosting methods are: fast boosting method, namely 20s step-by-step boosting method; slow boosting method, namely 60s step-by-step boosting method; very slow boosting method for selection.

After the voltage rises from zero to 75% of the rated test voltage you need in a certain boosting method and speed, it rises to the rated voltage you need at a speed of 2% of the rated test voltage per second, and pay close attention to the measurement The indications of the meter and the condition of the test object. If the indication of the measuring instrument and the condition of the tested product are found to be abnormal during the step-up process of the oil-immersed test transformer or during the test, the pressure should be lowered immediately, the power supply should be cut off, and the situation should be checked.

5. After the test, the voltage regulator should be returned to the zero position at a constant speed within a few seconds, and then the power supply should be cut off.

6. Do not exceed the rated parameters. Except when necessary for testing, never allow full voltage energization or de-energization.

7. When doing high pressure test, in addition to being familiar with the product instruction manual, it is also necessary to strictly implement the relevant national standards and operating procedures. Refer to GB311-83 “Insulation coordination of high-voltage transmission and transformation equipment, high-voltage test technology”; “Electrical equipment preventive test procedures” and so on.
