Our Three-Station Oil-Immersed Load Switch Expands Overseas Dual-Power Distribution Network Market for Compact Composite Transformers

Date:10-12-2026

Compact Equipment Becomes a Must-have for Overseas Distribution Network Upgrading

In recent years, distribution network renovation projects in Southeast Asia, the Middle East and parts of Europe keep advancing, and a large number of composite transformers have been put into field operation. Nevertheless, such transformers are generally featured with limited internal tank space. Conventional load switches on the market are mostly bulky, making built-in assembly difficult, hence dual-power switching requirements can hardly be satisfied. Many overseas clients report that considerable time is consumed on parameter comparison during model selection, since available switches either fail to fit dimension requirements or lack dual-position switching functions. Targeting this market pain point, our BFY3R3-series three-station oil-immersed load switch has completed iterative optimization. Designed for 15-38 kV dual-power distribution scenarios and compatible with global 50/60 Hz power grids, it can be directly matched with various composite transformers.

Core Design Solves Installation Challenges of Narrow Tank Bodies

This three-station load switch adopts transformer oil as insulation and arc-extinguishing medium. Equipped with a spring energy-storage mechanism, it realizes three-phase linkage, covering three working positions: Power Supply 1, Power Supply 2 and Open. It applies double-contact floating-bridge contacts, with loop resistance kept below 200 μΩ, delivering strong current-carrying capacity and stable anti-load-disturbance performance. The newly-added auxiliary static-contact structure improves meshing accuracy between moving and static contacts and reduces hidden risks of poor long-term contact. Its mechanical service life exceeds 3 000 operations, with rated current reaching 630 A. Short-circuit withstand parameters meet technical requirements for most overseas distribution projects.

It is side-wall-mounted on transformer tanks with standardized pre-reserved mounting cutouts. Buried-type and motor-driven operating mechanisms are available upon custom requests. Many overseas complete-set manufacturers comment that competing products of the same class usually require modification of transformer tank structures, while our product fits original welded nuts and locating pin holes directly and cuts tank re-tooling costs.

Customer Recognition Gained through On-site Overseas Project Implementation

At present, this product has received inquiries from multiple overseas complete-set equipment manufacturers, and small-batch orders are under production scheduling. Our foreign trade team reminds overseas partners that this switch is only intended for making-and-breaking rated operating current and must NOT be used for fault-current interruption. Operations shall be performed exclusively with the matching special insulated operating lever. Before installation, the switch shall be dried at 100±5 ℃ for 24 hours. Fastening torques for bolts must strictly follow specifications to avoid mechanism jitter caused by mounting-plate deformation.

We will keep collecting feedback from projects in different countries to further optimize sealing performance and fitting dimensions, enabling Chinese-manufactured oil-immersed switches to better participate in global distribution-network construction.
