 Chinese name for Cold Shrinkable Power Cable Terminal is cold shrinkable power cable terminal head (referred to as cold shrink terminal head), which is a type of cable terminal accessory that can be installed at room temperature without heating by taking advantage of the “elastic memory” effect of elastomer materials such as silicone rubber.

Core Working Principle of the Product

The product is mechanically expanded in the factory to stretch the highly elastic silicone rubber insulation component, which is then held in the expanded state by a supporting strip (e.g., plastic spiral strip). During on-site installation, the termination is simply slipped over the prepared cable end; upon removing the supporting strip, the silicone rubber retracts tightly onto the cable insulation by its own elasticity, forming a permanent sealing and insulating interface.

Core Principle of the Product

During on-site installation, the terminal head is simply placed over the pre-treated end of the cable, and the support strips are removed. The silicone rubber then shrinks back to its original shape due to its own elasticity, tightly wrapping around the cable insulation layer and forming a permanent seal and insulation interface.

It is particularly suitable for explosion-proof areas (such as chemical plants, gas stations, tunnels) and spaces with limited room in distribution cabinets.

Excellent Interface Performance: With a constant radial contraction pressure, it “breathes” in unison with the cable body, effectively preventing interlayer gaps caused by thermal expansion and contraction, with low partial discharge and stable electrical performance.

Wide Environmental Adaptability: Silicone rubber material has excellent hydrophobicity (water droplets roll off in spherical form), UV resistance, ozone resistance, aging resistance, and temperature resistance (-50°C to +150°C), making it suitable for high-altitude, cold, humid, salt spray, and heavily polluted areas.

Strong Compatibility of Specifications: One specification of cold shrink tubing can usually cover a range of cable cross-sections, reducing the number of inventory specifications.
