1. OVERVIEW

Rotary Off-Ioad Tap changer is the most classic and widely used mechanical structure form among resistive on-load tap changers. The function for the tap-changer is that we can operate the tap-changer on the transformer cover,by regulating the tap position to realize the voltage regulating of transformer as required.But only after the transformer is cut off from the electrical network,when the transformer is under off-curcuit state,could we operate this type of tap-changer.

4.Applications

Rotary Off-Ioad Tap changers are standard equipment for high-voltage, extra-high-voltage and large-capacity power transformers and are widely used in:

Power grid transmission and transformation: main transformers in 500kV, 220kV, 110kV and other substations.

Industrial fields: arc furnace transformers, rectifier transformers and other occasions that require frequent and precise voltage regulation.

Power plants: generator step-up transformers.

 

Notice

1) Installation places should not be explosive and corrosive gases. 

2) Before assembling the tapping switch, must check up whether the tapping switch conforms to the type specification of the transformer in order to avoid causing the loss that should not occur. 

3) The leading wire of the terminal of the tapping switch mustn’t make the tapping switch  deformed because of stressing and the leading wire and the moving part should have enough  moving space (usually 10mm) in order to avoid movement hindered. 

4) The maximum drying temperature of this switch is 110℃, if after drying,If the contact  resistance is too large, should be running tap back several times.

5) When the switch is in the maximum gear position, strictly forbid wrenching the handle to the  limit direction. 

6) Before assembling and switching should make 3~5 times of transfer on the tapping position of the tapping switch, when the tapping has completed the regulating transfer, the transfer handle  must be put into the flange locating slot.
